I am very excited to be returning to St. Patrick school for my fifth year! I look forward to working with students and partnering with parents for learning. I like to make learning fun, but will have high expectations for my students. I believe it is my job, along with other members of the St. Patrick Community, to help guide every student to accomplish their own individual goals. My goal is to help my 5th graders become more independent--to be able to think and do for themselves and to prepare them for middle school.
Prior to teaching at St. Patrick's, I taught 5th grade at Our Lady of Destiny in Des Plaines. I student taught in 5th grade at Holy Cross School and 4th grade at Everett Elementary School. For over 10 years, I was a substitute teacher and worked as an NWEA MAP test proctor for Lake Forest School District 67. I earned a Post-graduate Elementary Teaching License with middle school endorsements in language arts and social science at North Park University. I studied at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management where I received a Master of Business Administration and I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I live in Lake Forest with my husband, John and of course our cat Radimir and dog Margot. We have two grown daughters that live nearby. When I am not teaching or looking for new and fun ways to present lessons, I like to walk, bike, hike, volunteer at my church, and spend time in Door County, WI with my family and friends. If there were more hours in each day, you might find me at my sewing machine making quilts or acting at the community theater. I can be reached by e-mail at: [email protected] . Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, news, accomplishments, kudos etc. |
